    Abbott Hit With Birth Defect Suit Over Anti-Seizure Drug

    Abbott Laboratories Inc. and former corporate sibling AbbVie Inc. were hit with a suit in Illinois federal court on Wednesday alleging that the anti-seizure drug Depakote causes birth defects such as limb deformities and heart defects if taken during the first trimester of pregnancy.
