The St. Louis Metropolitan Taxicab Commission pressed a Missouri federal court Friday to block Uber Technologies Inc. from operating in the city and skirting licensing regulations and blasted the ride-hailing service's bid to get the instant suit tossed by claiming a separate antitrust suit tackles the same issues.

Uber Technologies Inc. on Friday asked a Missouri federal judge to toss the St. Louis Metropolitan Taxicab Commission's bid to keep the ride-hailing service from operating in the city, claiming the anti-competitive action is already being challenged in a related lawsuit.
