Daily fantasy companies DraftKings and FanDuel fought back Friday against a pair of patent-infringement suits filed in the Eastern District of Texas over technology for interactive fantasy sports, claiming the asserted patents are invalid.

The holder of two patents on technology for interactive fantasy sports accused DraftKings Inc. and FanDuel Inc. of infringing the patents in Texas federal court on Monday, adding another legal headache for the daily fantasy sports giants as they face lawsuits and government probes questioning their business models.
