A California federal judge denied on Wednesday Microsoft Corp.'s bid to compel Canadian rival Corel to disclose all of the court documents it filed in a separate patent infringement lawsuit over the same home office software, saying he wouldn't give Microsoft "carte blanche" in its latest patent suit.

Microsoft Corp. claimed in California federal court Friday that Corel Corp. ripped off Microsoft interfaces and used that as a key selling point for Corel programs, marking the latest patent suit in the rivals' ongoing battle over their home office software.
