A California federal judge denied a bid Friday by flash drive-maker Kingston Technology to force nonpracticing entity Polaris Innovations to produce certain documents in a computer memory patent infringement case involving Samsung Electronics Co., saying Polaris properly withheld them under attorney-client privilege.

A unit of major patent licensing firm WiLAN asked a California federal court on Wednesday to forgo a proposed pause of a computer memory patent infringement case involving Samsung Electronics Co., saying it's unfair to pause the suit pending inter partes review since the U.S. Supreme Court may simply wipe out those reviews.

A federal judge has rejected Samsung's bid to dismiss antitrust allegations that it funds "sham" infringement litigation by a unit of major patent licensing firm WiLAN against Kingston Technology Co. Inc. and others that threaten Samsung's dominant position in the computer chip market.
