An Ohio federal judge on Tuesday booted a defamation lawsuit that accused luxury fashion company Coach Inc. of destroying a small web retailer with false allegations of counterfeiting, saying his court was not the proper venue for the case.

Greer Burns & Crain Ltd. on Monday urged an Ohio federal court to dismiss claims by an online designer handbag reseller alleging the firm and its client Coach Inc. ruined the smaller retailer's reputation with false trademark infringement claims, arguing the reseller has failed to make a claim against the firm.
