Ex-NFL player Vince Ferragamo called Italian fashion brand Salvatore Ferragamo SpA's trademark infringement suit over the quarterback's eponymous winery an unfounded attempt to harass him and asked that it be transferred to California federal court, according to a copy of a letter filed in New York federal court on Friday.

Salvatore Ferragamo SpA said that a former NFL quarterback's use of the name for his winery and wine products violates its trademark, and the Italian luxury goods maker asked a New York federal judge on Wednesday to bar its use, arguing that it could confuse consumers.
