A New York man asked a Pennsylvania federal judge Tuesday to award him a quick win in his unfair practices suit claiming Comcast Corp. stole money from a bank account he inherited from his late stepfather, calling Comcast's efforts to explain away the withdrawals "absurd."

A former Comcast customer lodged a proposed class action in Pennsylvania federal court on Thursday accusing the telecom giant of unfair business practices such as overbilling, misrepresenting the basis for certain charges and illegally imposing "phantom" charges on customers who canceled their accounts.
