A British Virgin Islands company on Monday dropped its challenge in Alabama federal court to a $1.4 million arbitral award in favor of a Tennessee-based financial services company, related to a dispute over an exclusive international marketing agreement, in a bid to avoid landing on the hook for even more of its former partner’s litigation costs.

A British Virgin Islands company on Thursday asked an Alabama federal court to vacate a $1.4 million arbitral award issued to a Tennessee investment firm following a dispute over an exclusive international marketing agreement, saying the arbitrator engaged in misconduct and exceeded her authority.
