The Florida federal judge overseeing Venezuela's state-owned oil company PDVSA's suit over an alleged bribery scheme said Wednesday he would modify a temporary restraining order to prohibit all defendants from destroying any records related to business with it, but stopped short of granting the oil company's request to immediately access defendants' servers and documents.

A Florida federal judge on Friday blocked the shipment to Swiss authorities of a computer server belonging to one of the dozens of defendants named by Venezuela's state-owned oil company PDVSA in its suit alleging a long-running scheme by international oil companies to steal its information and bribe its employees.

A litigation trust for Venezuela's state-owned oil company PDVSA has sued international oil companies Glencore, Lukoil, Vitol and others for allegedly participating in a scheme to bribe the Venezuelan company's employees in exchange for advance information about crude oil purchases.
