Fortress, the company that bought blood-testing patents developed by now-defunct Theranos, has dropped an infringement suit against a French biotech outfit working on a COVID-19 test, saying it wants "to allow the defendants to focus their resources on combating the coronavirus."

Fortress, the company that bought patents developed by Theranos and Elizabeth Holmes, on Tuesday offered royalty-free licenses for its patented diagnostics technology for use in COVID-19 tests after facing backlash to a patent infringement lawsuit it filed last week against a company working on coronavirus tests.
