A Southern District of New York judge dismissed a patent infringement case against Netflix on Tuesday after Personalized Media Communications and the streaming service asked the court to toss the case, and after the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear a related appeal in October.

Netflix Inc. will have to face claims that it infringed Personalized Media Communications LLC's adaptive video streaming patents based on technology from the 1980s, after a New York federal judge declined Wednesday to hold the patents invalid under Alice.
