An Oregon taqueria lost its bid for coverage of its pandemic losses when a federal judge ruled the eatery failed to timely object to a magistrate judge's findings that the restaurant didn't claim any physical damage required for coverage under its policy.

A Portland restaurant can't tap into coverage for losses during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cincinnati Insurance Co. argued, saying a proposed federal class suit can't connect government shutdown orders to the alteration of property causing "direct physical loss or damage."
