A Pennsylvania federal judge overseeing picture frame trademark infringement claims against arts and crafts superstore Michaels has transferred claims against co-defendant and frame maker Harbortown Industries to Illinois.

Michaels Stores Inc. has failed to convince a Pennsylvania federal judge to toss a trademark infringement suit brought against it by a decoration company, with the judge holding that the complaint plausibly alleged Michaels ripped off the other company's picture frame designs.

Craft-store giant Michaels was "greedy" and "sloppy" when it allegedly copied a home decor company's picture frames right down to the instruction manual, according to a lawsuit the decor company filed in Pennsylvania federal court.
