A construction staffing agency will have to pay $2.7 million after it dropped off the radar in a U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission lawsuit claiming women were forced into menial job positions, a Maryland federal judge ordered.

EEOC Sex Bias Suit Against Staffing Co. Kept Alive
A Maryland federal court ruled Monday that Green JobWorks LLC can't escape a lawsuit from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission claiming the construction staffing agency steered women away from physical work and into cleaning positions, finding the agency's allegations were strong enough to survive.
