Sports apparel giant Adidas has reached a settlement to end a proposed class action in which a buyer claimed the company advertised and sold fake hockey jerseys branded as authentic after the court found the plaintiff reasonably pled the apparel company's use of the term "authentic" was misleading.

A New York federal judge has removed claims of misrepresentation and fraud in a proposed class action that accuses sports apparel company Adidas America Inc. of selling fake jerseys branded as authentic, but left intact deceptive practice and false advertising claims made under New York's General Business Law.
