A referee who was punched by an assistant coach after he ran onto the field during a championship soccer match in Silver Spring, Maryland, agreed Wednesday to dismiss his lawsuit against a nationwide adult soccer organization and the nation's largest amateur league.

A nationwide adult soccer organization and the nation's largest amateur league have told a federal judge they are not responsible for the actions of an assistant coach who ran onto the field and punched a referee during a December 2019 match in Silver Spring, Maryland.
