The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe and local government officials have reached a settlement in the tribe's attempt to bar a New York county from imposing vehicle use taxes against its members.

A New York-based Native American tribe has alleged its citizens have paid at least $400,000 in unlawful vehicle use taxes that infringe on the tribe's interest to self-govern and has asked a federal court to bar county officials from continuing to impose the fees on its members.
