The Bureau of Land Management has asked a Colorado federal judge to toss an oil and gas company's bid to expedite review of its drilling permits, arguing that the agency has acted within its discretion and will process the permits once it wraps up an environmental analysis.

A Colorado oil and natural gas company slapped the U.S. Bureau of Land Management with a complaint in federal court Monday claiming the agency has failed to process its drilling application in a timely manner, in violation of the federal Administrative Procedures Act.
