A Teamsters affiliate doesn't have an avenue to bring a Maryland WARN Act claim against two companies involved with automobile distribution, a federal judge concluded Monday, saying the state Legislature didn't intend to have an implied private right of action in the law.

Md. Facility Operators Flouted WARN Act, Teamsters Say
The operators of a Maryland car distribution facility violated the state's WARN Act when they failed to provide advance written notice of a layoff of 60 employees this spring, a Teamsters local and one of the laid-off workers said in a suit filed in federal court Friday.
