SEC Fines 2 Cos. $1.1M Over Paid Touts Of Reg A Offerings
The publisher of a popular cannabis magazine and a cloud computing company have agreed to pay the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission $558,071 apiece to resolve allegations that they and two of their executives participated in a scheme to fraudulently promote so-called Regulation A offerings by paying a publisher of an influential newsletter to tout their securities.
