Order on Motion to Supplement
TEXT ORDER entered by Chief Judge Sara Darrow on April 16, 2025. Plaintiff Chariot Campbell has filed a 116 Motion to Supplement Brief regarding her appeal. She asserts that her "Response to the Defendant's MOTION to SANCTION dated for February of 2025" contained a "Notice of Change of Address from her original Third Street address on file with the District Court to her current address on Michigan Ave." 116 Mot. Suppl. Br. 2. The Court infers that Plaintiff is referring to her 97 Rebuttal to the City's Motion to Sanction the Plaintiff[] which was filed on January 23, 2025. Contrary to Plaintiff's assertion, the Court does not find anything in the 97 Rebuttal to constitute a notice of change of address. In fact, in the signature block of the 97 Rebuttal, Plaintiff lists two addresses: 279 Michigan Ave. Apt. 210, Galesburg, Illinois 61401, and 186 W. 3rd Street, Galesburg, Illinois 61401. See 97 Pl.'s Rebuttal Mot. Sanctions 43; see also 106 Mar. 5, 2025 Order 14-16 (discussing the fact that Plaintiff had not informed the Court of any change in her mailing address). Plaintiff states that the Court and Defendants began sending mail to the address on Michigan Ave., but "spontaneously thereafter the District Court has resumed sending correspondence (Notice of Electronic Filing dated 04.02.25 and correspondence arriving 04.15.25) to the Plaintiffs [sic] at the incorrect address, being the old address located on Third Street, instead of the Plaintiff's appropriate address being located on Michigan Ave." 116 Mot. Suppl. Br. 2-3. Contrary to this statement, the Court has consistently used Plaintiff's address on file (186 W 3rd Street, Galesburg, IL 61401) when mailing Court orders to her. Nevertheless, the Court will construe the foregoing statements as a notice of change of address and accordingly directs the Clerk to update Plaintiff's mailing address on the docket to: 279 Michigan Ave Apt 210, Galesburg, Illinois 61401. The Court additionally directs the Clerk to mail this Text Order, as well as the Court's April 2, 2025 and April 11, 2025 Text Orders, to Plaintiff at the Michigan Ave address. Finally, the Court reminds Plaintiff that all documents for her appeal must be filed with the Seventh Circuit Clerk of Court at 219 S. Dearborn St., Room 2722, Chicago, IL 60604. The Court STRIKES the 116 Motion to Supplement Brief because it pertains to her appeal and she improperly filed it here in the district court. (ARR)
