Order Staying Case
ORDER - On March 7, 2024, The Court rejected the parties' joint proposed 394-page Pre-Trial Order and ordered the parties to dramatically reduce the proposed Pre-Trial Order within 30 days. (Rec. Doc. 871 ). On April 5, 2024, the parties filed a revised proposed Pre-Trial Order that is 333 pages long. Because of the order's excessive length, the Court also declines to consider this proposed order. Accordingly, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that counsel are ordered to meet and confer and dramatically reduce the proposed Pre-Trial Order (Rec. Doc. 879), in particular the number of witnesses and exhibits and any objections to exhibits and deposition designations. Counsel shall then file the revised Pre-Trial Order within 30 days of this Order. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that counsel schedule and attend a settlement conference with Magistrate Judge North within 60 days. If the settlement conference is not successful, the parties are ORDERED to schedule a conference with Magistrate Judge North for the purpose of reducing the number of witnesses, exhibits, and objections. The parties shall report to the Court once this is completed. Meanwhile, this case is STAYED and ADMINISTRATIVELY CLOSED pending the report from counsel. Signed by Judge Carl J Barbier on 4/9/24.(cg)
