Amcor Pins $252M Price Tag On Purchase Of Rival

Law360, New York (March 7, 2012, 4:53 PM EST) -- Australian flexible packaging manufacturer Amcor Ltd. said Wednesday that it would pay AU$238 million (US$252 million) to scoop up one of its rivals, private equity-backed Aperio Group Australia Pty. Ltd. — a deal Australian competition authorities have already begun investigating.

Aperio, which is owned by private equity firm Catalyst Investment Pty. Ltd., has more than a dozen factories in Australia, New Zealand and Thailand, and it generates AU$350 million in annual revenues.
