UK Offering Up To £100K For Cartel Tipsters

Law360, New York (March 20, 2017, 6:20 PM EDT) -- The U.K.’s competition authority said Monday it is now offering to pay rewards of up to £100,000 ($123,580) to people who provide information about cartel activity as the watchdog looks to crack down on the illegal schemes.

The Competition and Markets Authority is launching a new online advertising campaign to draw attention to illegal agreements between businesses to fix prices and share markets and to encourage whistleblowers to come forward with information about the arrangements, according to a statement from the CMA.
