Legal Industry Loses Jobs For Third Straight Month

Law360, New York (April 7, 2017, 3:35 PM EDT) -- The legal sector shed another 1,500 jobs in March as the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday reported a third consecutive month of losses in a continued downward slide for the industry since the beginning of 2017.

Now standing at 1,121,800, the number of seasonally adjusted legal sector jobs is at its lowest total since December, and is more than 4,000 off the mark recorded in January, when the industry employed 1,125,800 people.

The BLS' report did not return positive news for February's figures either, as the agency initially reported 1,125,100 jobs, but has since changed its tally to 1,123,300. While...
