Congress Greenlights Back Pay For Furloughed Fed Workers

Law360 (January 11, 2019, 7:40 PM EST) -- The U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly agreed on a bill to give furloughed federal workers back pay after the government shutdown ends, sending the bill to President Donald Trump’s desk Friday.

The Government Employee Fair Treatment Act passed the House 411-7 after passing the U.S. Senate unanimously a day earlier. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., has said the president plans to sign the bill.
