Faruqi Accuser Tries To Revive Claims Against Co-Founders

Law360, Los Angeles (January 29, 2015, 10:40 PM EST) -- An ex-Faruqi & Faruqi LLP associate accusing partner Juan Monteverde of sexual assault urged a New York federal judge on Thursday to revive her claims against the firm's co-founders, arguing they can be held liable as employers despite a judge’s Wednesday ruling to the contrary.

Alexandra Marchuk argued that U.S. District Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein’s dismissal of all claims against siblings Nadeem and Lubna Faruqi was wrong because they can be considered employers under New York City human-rights laws that expansively attack employment discrimination.
