FERC Says Midwest Transmission Rate Reviews Were Sound

Law360 (June 9, 2021, 8:24 PM EDT) -- The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Tuesday urged the D.C. Circuit to uphold its orders in long-running rate cases involving Midwest transmission companies, including ones that revised the agency's formula for determining whether investor returns are just and reasonable.

FERC is facing challenges on all sides over a series of orders it's issued involving rates charged by transmission companies within the footprint of regional grid operator Midcontinent Independent System Operator, with the transmission companies and their customers lobbing D.C. Circuit petitions.
