Cargill, Others Say Bridgestone Owes $85M For Cleanup

Law360, New York (January 28, 2013, 1:59 PM EST) -- A Bridgestone Americas Inc. unit was hit with an environmental cleanup suit in Ohio federal court Friday from Cargill Inc. and six other companies who claim the tire manufacturer dumped toxic waste at a now-contaminated landfill and must contribute $85 million in past and future response costs.

Northrup Grumman Systems Corp. and NCR Corp. are among the companies joining Cargill in the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act suit, which alleges that Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC disposed of hazardous substances at the North Sanitary...
