Out of Ch. 11, W.R. Grace Pays $63M Toward Enviro Cleanup

Law360, Chicago (February 5, 2014, 8:29 PM EST) -- Freshly reorganized after more than a decade under court protection, W.R. Grace & Co. has paid more than $63 million to the federal government under its bankruptcy plan to fund environmental cleanup efforts at dozens of sites across the country, the U.S. Department of Justice said Wednesday.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency received $54 million of the payout to cover cleanup costs at Superfund sites in 21 states, while the remaining $9 million went to other federal agencies, the DOJ said in a joint statement with...
