MINUTE ORDER IN CHAMBERS of the Honorable Magistrate Judge Maximiliano D. Couvillier, III on 8/31/2026. ORDER Denying 24 Stipulation;
The parties' Stipulated Protective Order at ECF No. 24 is DENIED without prejudice. The Court rejects Paragraph 9. Any discovery disputes, including disputes regarding the designation of documents or application of the protective order, must be addressed pursuant to the Court's 02/26/2026 Standing Order (ECF No. 13). In addition to complying with the procedural requirements of LR IA 10-5 and FRCP 5.2, the parties must also meet the substantive standards of Kamakana v. City & Cnty. of Honolulu, 447 F.3d 1172 (9th Cir. 2006) and its progeny when requesting to file documents under seal. Finally, the parties are strongly encouraged to address using artificial intelligence for discovery in their stipulated protective orders per the Court's Standing Order. IT IS ORDERED that the parties may have leave to file an amended stipulated protective order consistent with this order.
