Text Order ~Util - Set Hearings
TEXT ORDER-- The parties in this matter participated in a lengthy settlement conference before Magistrate Judge Adams on June 23, 2026. Significant progress was made, however, additional time is needed to continue settlement negotiations and, specifically, for defense counsel to have further discussions with the City of Patterson concerning settlement authority. There shall be a status conference before Magistrate Judge Adams on July 31, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. via video conference, at which point it is expected that defense counsel shall communicate a firm answer from the City concerning authority (to be shared in confidence with the Court). In the meantime, fact discovery shall continue to progress with the deadline for the completion of fact discovery extended until July 31, 2026. The deadlines for expert discovery shall be held in abeyance pending further Order of the Court. So Ordered by Magistrate Judge Stacey D. Adams on 6/23/2026. (JB)
