   TEXT ORDER: The Court has reviewed the parties' submissions at Dkt. No. 64 , 68 . Having considered the Motion on the papers, the Court decides the Motion without oral argument. See Fed. R. Civ. P. 78(b); L.Civ.R. 78.1(b). In its discretion, the Court may stay discovery as an exercise of its inherent authority to manage its docket. See L.Civ.R. 16.1(a)(1) (discovery may be stayed by the Magistrate Judge "due to pendency of a dispositive or other motion"); Gerald Chamales Corp. v. Oki Data Americas, Inc., 247 F.R.D. 453, 454 (D.N.J. 2007) (Magistrate Judges have broad discretion to manage their docket and to decide discovery issues, including whether to stay discovery pending a decision on a dispositive motion). As the Court administratively terminated Defendant Howard Gurock's motion at Dkt. No. 54 and granted Defendant Albergo, Shmaruk & Kofman, LLP's request to stay its response deadline pending the resolution of Brava's Motion to Compel, it is in the interest of the judicial economy that this Court decide whether this matter belongs in federal court in the first instance. The Court takes note that the resolution of the Motion to Compel Arbitration at Dkt. No. 39 may preserve the time and resources of both the Court and the parties. In light of the foregoing, discovery is stayed in this matter pending resolution of Plaintiff's Motion to Compel at Dkt. No. 39 . Accordingly, the Initial Scheduling Conference set for July 15, 2026 is CANCELED. So Ordered by Magistrate Judge Jose R. Almonte on 7/14/2026. (akw, )
