MINUTES IN CHAMBERS - ORDER REGARDING PLAINTIFF'S EX PARTE APPLICATION FOR SANCTIONS AS TO DEFENDANTS PURSUANT TO FEDERAL RULES OF CIVIL PROCEDURE 37(b) AND 37(d) (DOCKET NO. 320) by Judge George H Wu. The Court is in receipt of an Ex Parte Application for Terminating Sanctions, Including Default Judgment under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 37(b)(2)(A)(vi); Issue, Evidentiary, and Monetary Sanctions; and 45-Day Evidentiary Damages Submission Schedule ("Ex Parte Application") filed by plaintiff Julie Ann Goldberg ("Plaintiff"). Upon review of this filing and the docket in this matter, the Court finds it appropriate at this time to seek from Magistrate Judge Margo A. Rocconi a report and recommendation ("R&R") regarding the scope/extent of Defendants' discovery and other violations and also as to the specific relief requested by Plaintiff in her Ex Parte Application. Said report shall be issued by July 13, 2026. Following Judge Rocconi's issuance of an R&R, the parties are ORDERED TO SHOW CAUSE as to whether this Court should adopt the R&R by (1) filing simultaneous responses limited to no more than ten pages each by no later than July 21, 2026; and (2) appearing either telephonically or in-person at a hearing scheduled for July 27, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. (aco)
