Order on Motion for Extension of Time to Set/Reset Deadlines
MINUTE ORDER. Upon consideration of the 376 Motion for Extension of Time, 377 Response, and 379 Notice, it is hereby ORDERED that the Motion is GRANTED IN PART and DENIED IN PART. For the following reasons, the Court will grant a ten-day extension to the pending deadlines. The government has had lengthy notice that it would need to make a decision regarding the timeliness of claims in this case and propose next steps, and some Claimants have shown that they would likely be prejudiced by further delay. But the Court understands that government counsel must coordinate with other government stakeholders in this complex case, and to the extent that the government needs more time to evaluate the additional BTC-e server information to ensure the accuracy of its accounting, the Court believes that confirming accurate information now would benefit all Parties in facilitating an orderly and efficient resolution of this case. The Court, however, will not look favorably upon any further extension requests related to the pending deadlines.Accordingly, it is ORDERED that the government shall file on or before July 20, 2026, a motion to strike any claim that it objects to on timeliness grounds. It is further ORDERED that oppositions to the motion to strike shall be filed on or before August 3, 2026, and the government shall file its reply on or before August 17, 2026. It is also ORDERED that the Parties shall meet and confer and file a joint status report and proposed scheduling order on or before July 20, 2026. So ORDERED by Judge Carl J. Nichols on 07/10/2026.
