(IN CHAMBERS) ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE WHY PARTIES SHOULD NOT BE SANCTIONED FOR FAILURE TO FILE JOINT STATUS REPORT by Judge John W. Holcomb: On September 15, 2025, the Court issued an Order [ECF No. 149] that DIRECTED the parties to file on or before December 12, 2025, and every 90 days thereafter, a Joint Status Report that advises the Court regarding the posture of the appeal. It appears that the parties have not provided a Status Report since June 10, 2026 [ECF No. 156], in violation of the Order. Accordingly, the parties, and each of them, are DIRECTED to Show Cause why they should not be sanctioned in the amount of $500, per party, for failure to file a Joint Status Report per order of the Court. The parties, and each of them, are DIRECTED to respond in writing to this Order to Show Cause no later than October 2, 2026. A hearing on this Order to Show Cause is SET for October 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in Courtroom 9D of the Ronald Reagan Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, 411 W. 4th Street, Santa Ana, California. Kaufman: Defendants have failed to file a timely response to the order to show cause ("OSC") why they should not be sanctioned for failure to follow court orders. Dkt. 49. The Court therefore VACATES the September 9, 2026, hearing on the OSC.
