Deals Rumor Mill: Sanofi, Bright Food, Huawei Technologies

By Benjamin Horney (December 20, 2016, 4:26 PM EST) -- French pharmaceutical company Sanofi SA is making progress in its attempt to buy Swiss biotech Actelion Ltd., Reuters reported on Tuesday, even though some investors fear Actelion's chief executive officer and founder might get cold feet and choose not to sell. According to the report, the two sides are so close to a deal that if Actelion were to opt out at this point, it could cause serious problems for the company, with investors potentially "demanding the overthrow of its board." Reports last week said that the two companies were in talks, and that Johnson & Johnson rescinded an offer it previously made for Actelion. Reports have said that Sanofi could wind up inking a deal that values Actelion at up to $30 billion....
