ChemChina, Syngenta Offer EU Antitrust Fixes For $43B Deal

Law360, Fort Wayne (January 10, 2017, 5:47 PM EST) -- China National Chemical Corp. and Syngenta AG have offered European antitrust regulators concessions to assuage concerns that ChemChina’s planned $43 billion takeover of the Swiss firm would harm competition.

The fixes were submitted to the European Commission on Monday, according to the regulator’s case page for the deal. The posting did not detail the nature of the concessions. The commission has until April 12 to decide whether to approve the deal and under what conditions.
