6 Concerns For Insurance Lawyers As GDPR Approaches

Law360, London (January 29, 2018, 5:11 PM GMT) -- With only four months to go, legal experts worry that many insurers remain unprepared for the arrival of the European Union’s formidable data protection regime, risking a new array of fines for noncompliance.

Starting May 25, the General Data Protection Regulation will force any firm or organization offering services to EU residents to gain explicit consent to store personal data, and allow consumers to have their details deleted. Firms also must report data breaches to regulators within 72 hours of a cyberattack.
