Judge Allows Appeal In Family Dispute Over Insurance Policy

Law360, London (December 6, 2017, 4:26 PM GMT) -- A U.K. High Court judge said Tuesday an insurance claimant could continue his legal fight against his brother over the disputed proceeds of a critical illness insurance payout that named the claimant’s sibling as the beneficiary.

Judge Colin Birss said Tuesday there “was a question to answer” about whether Clive Frankland is due the proceeds of a £250,000 ($335,000) critical illness claim paid to his brother Duncan, which he alleges he is entitled to under an agreement to purchase each other’s shares in the family business...
