Thanks to a rational response from Congress and unprecedented pushback from the private sector, the LSC survived for another (underfunded) year. But that was the first salvo only. Earlier this year, the White House proposed a budget for fiscal year 2019 that again provided only enough funding for LSC to shut itself down ($18.2 million "to be used only for … closure"). Thankfully, however, in the budget that passed Congress and was signed into law last week, LSC was saved again, restored to $410 million of funding....
