US Agencies Join Forces To Beef Up Trade Enforcement

Law360, New York (February 28, 2012, 3:42 PM EST) -- The federal agencies that enforce international trade agreements and domestic trade laws will work more closely together as part of a new trade enforcement unit created by President Barack Obama on Tuesday.

The president signed an executive order establishing the Interagency Trade Enforcement Center within the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, which USTR Ron Kirk said in a conference call marks “the most significant dedication of resources to trade enforcement since USTR was established 50 years ago.”
