UK Stresses Trade Deal Must Come Alongside Brexit Pact

Law360, London (June 16, 2017, 4:53 PM BST) -- The U.K. government insisted on Friday, just three days before Brexit talks are due to begin, that negotiators must agree the country’s future trade relationship with the European Union at the same time as they decide the full terms of Britain’s departure from the bloc.

The Department for Exiting the EU reinforced the position which Britain spelled out when it formally notified Brussels on March 29 of its intention to leave by triggering Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, the formal mechanism for leaving the bloc....
