Samsung Can't Get 'Second Bite' At Semiconductor Patent

By Matthew Bultman (May 31, 2018, 7:44 PM EDT) -- The Patent Trial and Appeal Board has rejected challenges from Samsung and two semiconductor makers to a university patent on semiconductor technology, refusing to allow a "second bite at the apple" as a district court infringement trial looms.

The board on Tuesday denied two requests for inter partes review of a KAIST IP US LLC patent that Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Qualcomm Inc. and GlobalFoundries Inc. have been accused of infringing.
