USPTO Unveils Final List Of New Patent Fees Under AIA

Law360, New York (January 18, 2013, 7:03 PM EST) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Friday unveiled a final slate of 351 adjusted patent fees set to take effect in March that it said will help reduce the backlog of pending patent applications and the amount of time it takes for patents to issue.

The America Invents Act granted the USPTO the authority to set its own fees, rather than having them set by statute, and Friday's Federal Register notice is the first time the office has issued final fees under the authority, having...
