Toshiba Hit With Patent Suit Over Face-Recognition Software
Law360, New York (July 3, 2013, 8:14 PM EDT) -- A patent-holding company hit Toshiba America Inc. with an electronics security patent infringement suit in Delaware federal court Tuesday over facial-recognition software used in its Qosmio line of laptops.
CeeColor Industries LLC accuses Toshiba of infringing a pair of patents it holds for a proximity sensing system that acknowledges activity within the vicinity of an electronic device. According to CeeColor, Toshiba has infringed and is continuing to infringe the patents by manufacturing and selling its Qosmio line of laptops and other products that contain proximity sensing software.
