Samsung, HTC Chip At Patent Suit In PTAB Review

Law360, Washington (March 10, 2015, 6:27 PM EDT) -- Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and HTC Corp. on Tuesday attacked a content-streaming patent that a patent aggregator is asserting against them in California federal court, telling the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeals Board that the claimed invention merely combined known technology.

The various claims in Affinity Labs of Texas LLC's "method for content delivery" patent simply combined a series of previously issued patents and should be invalidated for obviousness reasons, the companies told a PTAB panel during an America Invents Act proceeding.
