Samsung, HTC Ax Another Affinity Streaming Patent At PTAB

Law360, New York (July 21, 2015, 4:05 PM EDT) -- The Patent Trial and Appeal Board axed an Affinity Labs of Texas LLC patent on streaming media technology, finding Monday that Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and HTC Corp. showed the patent was invalid as obvious.

In a final written decision on an America Invents Act review, the board said that Samsung and HTC demonstrated that the challenged claims of U.S. Patent No. 8,359,007 B2 were unpatentable as obvious over the so-called Treyz, Hitson and Fuller prior art.
