By Sam Reisman (April 2, 2019, 2:27 PM EDT) -- Law firm consolidation continued apace in the first quarter of 2019, driven largely by deals in which large firms gobbled up firms with fewer than 10 attorneys, according to a report released Tuesday.
Altman Weil's latest MergerLine report revealed that there were 27 law firm tie-ups in the U.S. made public during the last three months, continuing at a clip set during the previous two years, both of which saw record-breaking numbers of law firm mergers and acquisitions. All of the combinations involved acquisitions of firms with fewer than 20 lawyers.
